Nancy Kwak
Biography
I am an associate professor in the History Department and affiliate of the Urban Studies and Planning Department at UC San Diego. I am the Director of the Institute of Arts and Humanities, and I am the past president of the Society for American City and Regional Planning History.
I earned my BA in history at UC Berkeley, my MAT at Harvard GSE, and my PhD in history from Columbia University in 2006.
My first job as a tenure-track assistant professor was at Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering). While completing my PhD, I taught at LaGuardia Community College, Brooklyn College, Fordham University, Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, Barnard College, and Columbia University. Much earlier, I also taught English in Busan and high school history in San Francisco.
